Frenchy's Postcards From Omaha- Day Three

Day Three Photo Gallery

Hello again,

Another day, another wake up call and breakfast. Our practice was held today at Boys Town, a living quarters for troubled children. When were driving into the area it looked like a college campus with different buildings all over the place with some very nice facilities. Their baseball field was nicer than some college fields I played on during my freshman and sophomore years. When we got off the bus we were welcomed by about 30 fans and 25 of the Boys Town Residents. We also had some surprise guests: members of the 1969 National Championship team. Former head coach Bobby Winkles spoke to us and got us pumped up to go out and play some baseball. After our practice we traveled back to the hotel and had some lunch. Everyone finished lunch and had some time to kill before our team dinner. Some of the guys took naps, and others went to the pool. I watched the first game between Fullerton and Arkansas. It was a good game, with Arkansas picking up the win. Our dinner was held in downtown Omaha at Upstream Brewing Company. We were able to catch the second game on the TV at dinner. We finished dinner and had a little time to walk around Omaha, and most of us stopped at the family of violinists on one of the corners. There were five kids, probably ages 8 through 25. It was pretty amazing to listen to them all in sync. We had some down time after dinner which we distributed between relaxing in the room, going to the pool, and chatting with fans down in the lobby. Well I need to get to bed; big game tomorrow! Wish us luck and hopefully everyone can catch us on ESPN tomorrow at 2 ET. Goodnight.
