Today may be considered a day off to many, but to us, it was just another work day. Our wake up call, like everyday, came at 8:30, which is early to me and some of my teammates. We got ready for practice and headed to the indoor practice facility Ultimate Baseball Academy. It was the same place we practiced on Thursday. Again we practiced for a nice sizable audience. It started out by doing some team defense. There was some live hitting and team offense being done while I, Swagerty and Seth went into the bullpen area and got some of our work in. They had a nice area off to the side that had enough room for a couple of fake mounds and one real mound. It was one of the nicest indoor facilities I had seen. The pitchers then got a nice little workout from our strength coach and former Sun Devil Jim Mancuso. The position players then took batting practice, which was a little scary because the space wasn't that big. We were kind of closer then usual and the windows were right behind the batter, which made it a little difficult to see. After a good practice, we went to a local high school for a lunch put on by the Optimist Club. We each ate with some fans and friends. I ate with my mother, Mr. and Mrs. Leake, some fans named Nick and Tanner, and Nick's mom. We signed some autographs after lunch and then got a couple of awards. With a little time in between the arrival back at the hotel and dinner, most of the team spent the time in their rooms resting. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Millard's, and we had some entertainment from a local cheerleading team. With it getting late here, I am going to head off. We've got another big game tomorrow; against Texas at 6:00 CT on ESPN. Hope all you Devil fans can watch and cheer for us. Thanks and good night!
