Pac-12 Release
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State softball's Cheyenne Coyle was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week after the junior shortstop helped the Sun Devils to a sweep of No. 10 California over the weekend.
This is the second Pac-12 Player of the Week award for Coyle this season (also Feb. 12). With the weekly accolade, ASU now has six conference honors this season - tied for most with Oregon - and 78 in program history.
Coyle had a standout weekend with two home runs and led the team with a .714 batting average, 1.714 slugging percentage and a .818 on-base percentage. In game one she connected 2-for-3 at the plate, two runs scored on her pair of homers. She was 1-for-1 in game two with two RBI, two runs and two walks. In the series finale, Coyle went 2-for-3 at the dish with two runs scored, a walk and a double.
She is hitting .368 on the year with a team-best 59 runs scored, 17 home runs, .809 slugging percentage and is a close second with 50 hits and 52 RBI. Coyle entered the weekend ranked nationally in walks (16th, 0.8), runs (6th, 1.15) and homers (16th, 15).
