Student-athlete career development programs
ASU 394
This course will enable student-athletes to recognize how their athletic experience has helped them acquire skills and characteristics highly valued in the workplace. There will be a strong emphasis on personal growth and development, including learning strategies and coping skills to adapt to life after sport. Students will gain real-life experiences through practical application.
Peer mentor program
The Professional Guide Program aims to help student-athletes explore careers, network, build relationships with professionals in their field of interest, and understand life after intercollegiate athletics. Our goal is to provide Sun Devil student-athletes with the tools necessary to succeed in the professional world after graduation.
Resume workshop
In the resume workshop, student-athletes can meet with ASU alumni who influence hiring decisions in their respective fields. Our alumni provide critical insight for student-athletes to utilize in developing and strengthening their resumes, particularly in capturing their student-athlete experience and building an impressive resume.
Job transition workshop
Student-athletes will learn how to manage their money, why it is important to save for retirement, and an overview of a 401 (k). The three-part series will focus on budgeting, credit, and investing.
Interview workshop
"The Great Interview” is a unique mixer that combines mock interview questions and resume critique by professional recruiters in varying employment areas.
Graduate school workshops
Workshops on grad school, including how to apply, required exams, and letters of recommendation.
