“We are very proud of both our rich military tradition and our recent efforts in ensuring our armed forces have a strong presence at our athletics events,” Ray Anderson, Vice President for University Athletics and Athletics Director, said. “It is of the utmost importance for us to continue to honor and recognize members of the military and their families, and to provide resources that help them continue to play active roles in our community.”
Military Appreciation Weekend at Phoenix Muni coincides with the 11th annual Pat’s Run on April 25 at Sun Devil Stadium. The 4.2 mile run/walk raises scholarship funds for the Tillman foundation and ends on the 42-yard line of Frank Kush Field at Sun Devil Stadium, which represents the No. 42 Tillman wore at ASU.
Fans across the nation can join Sun Devil Athletics in honoring the military by partaking in one of the 30-plus Shadow and Troop Runs on April 25.
