TEMPE, Ariz. (www.TheSunDevils.com) -- After a stunning sweep of nationally ranked Stanford and winners of 19 of their last 25 games, the Arizona State Baseball team moved back into the national rankings in all four major polls.
The Sun Devils are currently ranked No. 20 by Sports Weekly/ESPN, No. 21 by Baseball America and No. 22 by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA).
Through 40 games of the 2005 season, ASU is 25-15 overall and are tied for second in the Pac-10 with a 6-3 record. After starting the season 6-9, the Sun Devils have turned their season around by winning 19 of their last 25 games. Playing arguably the toughest schedule in the nation, ASU is 9-11 against ranked teams and have played 22 of their 40 games (55%) against teams that have appeared in the national polls at some point this season.
BoydsWorld.com ranks ASU as having the No. 9 projected RPI in the country and the No. 2 SoS (strength of schedule). The Sun Devils return to action this weekend with a three-game Pac-10 series against UCLA at Packard Stadium.
