@ASUSwimDive Travels to Las Vegas To Face UNLV

LAS VEGAS – The Arizona State men (2-3) and women’s (0-5) swim and dive teams return to competition this Saturday, Dec. 6, against UNLV from Buchanan Natatorium in Las Vegas, Nev. The dual meet is set to begin at noon PT.

For tthe Sun Devils, this marks the last dual meet of 2014 before moving into the second half of the season.

UNLV traveled to Tempe last year with ASU escaping the meet with mixed results. The ASU women took down the Rebels, 198.5-98.5, while the men fell by a score of 192-105.

The Devils also made a trip to Las Vegas in 2013, competing in the UNLV Fall Invitational at the same venue they will be competing in this Saturday. The women swam their way to a 2nd-place finish behind only No. 1 Cal, while the men left with a 4th-place finish.

This time around the men aim to gain revenge from last season's loss, while the women seek out their first win of the season against a team who they found success against last season.

Last time in the pool, both the men and women’s swim teams finished 5th in the 2014 Art Adamson Invitational, one of the fastest meets of the season. Both teams found success while notching a plethora of NCAA “B” cut times, and they will look to carry that momentum into Saturday’s meet and beyond into the latter portion of the scheule.

The diving team has exceled of late, led by a freshman trio of Mara Aiacoboae on the women’s side, and David Hoffer and Heikki Makikallio on the men’s side. They will use this meet as a tune-up before heading to USA Diving Winter Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, spanning Dec. 16-21.
