TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State's wrestling squad will hold its annual awards banquet at the Karston Golf Course Clubhouse Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at 6:30 p.m.
All ASU wrestling fans are encouraged to join in the celebration of a successful 2000-01 wrestling season that included a Pac-10 Championship, three NCAA All-Americans and a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
ASU wrestlers who are Maroon and Gold Scholars will be recognized for their outstanding academic achievement, while individual awards will be presented for Most Inspirational, Most Improved and Most Outstanding Wrestler. The banquet will provide an opportunity for wrestling fans to show their appreciation to departing head coach Lee Roy Smith. During his successful tenure at ASU (1992-2001), Smith finished with a dual meet record of 91-58-1.
The cost per person is $25 for a three-course dinner, including a choice of Italian or Mexican buffet. Please RSVP by calling 480-965-2603.
