ASU T&F?s Totten Picks Up 5000m Win At Mt. Sac

WALNUT, Calif.—Arizona State track and field’s sophomore Chelsey Totten set a new personal best as she won the Open B section of the women’s 5000m run in 16:19.07  at the 57th Mt. Sac Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the campus of Mt. San Antonio College.

Fellow sophomore Jenna Mack also set a personal best in the 5000m, placing 10th in the Open C section at 16:42.66. Maack knocked nearly two minutes off her previous best of 18:09.94, set on March 28 as part of ASU’s Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Invitational.

Also for the Sun Devils, redshirt junior Ryan Herson ran 13:51.82 in the Invitational A section, knocking nearly 25 seconds off his previous season best, which he ran at ASU’s Pac-12 vs. Big Ten Invitational.

Redshirt sophomore CJ Albertson ran 14:21.53 in the Open A section of the 5000m run, finishing 16th.

Up next, the Sun Devils will be in action at two meets, with a portion of the squad traveling to Des Moines, Iowa, for the Drake Relays, April 23-25, while the rest of the team will travel to San Diego, Calif., for the Triton Invitational.
