Opening Statement
“I thought it was a gutsy win. I’m very happy for the seniors that have been really great to me, great to the program this year for the guys that just joined and DJ for two years. So to see those guys perform the way they did all contributing and hard fought game, hard game but happy we got a win here. Now hopefully we will use this momentum heading out on the road.”
On gutting out the close wins with defense being the key…
“We got the stops we needed, the one negative we didn’t really rebound great. But as far as giving up too many offensive rebounds, but our field goal percentage defense is where we needed it. We guarded at the line well, pretty well. We won the paint 40-30 and good work getting the ball to Warren and finding him but also the guards were not settling for all jump shots and were driving and making some shots. 16 assists, five turnovers, so that’s a wonderful stat that you like to see. ”
On seniors getting the final win at home…
“They made all of the winning plays. I touched on a few of them, Des’s three in the left wing and Devan in the right corner, Warren had some key baskets. Des is ice though at the foul line and was able to get separation and hit that shot. So the shot making was there at crunch time and the free throw shooting and just defensively our pursuit and how hard we played at that end of the floor.”

On being 13-0 when Desmond Cambridge scores double figures…
“I emphasize that in the locker room (followed by laughter). I'm happy we made that happen on senior night. I think my freshman year we had like six seniors and they lost in their senior night and it was sad. So we came out today and handled business. I think everybody wants to win. Everybody made that statement in our last home game today and I'm very excited for that.”
On the impact of the final home game of the season…
“We needed that … It was a must win game. We got to have that for the rest of these next three games. So it wasn't really about the seniors and stuff. But yeah, that was our main focus. Our season on the line being added on top for being able to get to the bar, that was that was very important.”
On the clutch three-pointers from him and Des…
“As a Sun Devil we have big coconuts. – (proceeds to ponder if that’s an appropriate reference) – But yeah, we emphasize that nobody is afraid to take those big shots, especially Des. He lives in the moment… he's been doing it his whole life. He chose me to shoot that shot and I knew I was gonna take it.”
On the outlook versus Arizona…
“These next three games are important. We're gonna come in like we did today. I feel like we should all have that same mindset. You know, we have a couple of days until we play Saturday. That's the only game so that will be our only focus just winning that rival game.”

On second half offense…
“I felt like we were getting good shots for the whole game. But the second half, I felt like shots were falling for the most part. So I felt like that's how we got the lead. And we finished out the game with the dub. It's just our offense, we were able to finish it out and we made open shots. So I'm proud of the guys.”
On the rebounding strategy…
“It was tough for me. I felt like today I wasn’t able to get the rebounds I wanted just because I was defending on the perimeter a lot. So, credit to them they found a way for me not to get boards. But we just took what they gave us honestly and we did a good job on switching, Carlson’s a great big. So, I felt like the second half we did a good job of containing him and down the stretch I felt like that helped us get the win.”
On win being a confidence boost…
“I felt like it’s a perfect opportunity, just as far as what we’ve done on the road so far I felt like it’s also a boost of confidence because I feel like we’re road warriors. We could take care of business on the road, so I’m excited these three games are going to be fun and buckle up ‘cause it’s definitely going to be a ride.”
