Anthony Robles' accolades at ASU

  • Captured the 2011 NCAA Championship at 125 pounds in his senior season to cap a perfect 36-0 season and earn his third All-America honor.
  • He advanced to the NCAA Championships four times in his career, falling one win shy as a redshirt freshman of becoming a four-time All-American.
  • Finished fourth as a sophomore and seventh as a junior before winning the title as the No. 1 seed his senior season
  • Advanced to the Pac-10 Conference finals all four seasons and won the title his last three years
  • Capped his career with 122 victories, the eighth-most in school history

2010-11 season

  • Defeated defending champion and No. 2 seed Matt McDonough, 7-1, in the championship final
  • Posted wins by technical fall in his first two matches at the national tournament, giving him a single-season record of 24
  • Scored a 9-3 decision over No. 8 Jarrod Patterson (Oklahoma) in the quarterfinals to earn his third-consecutive All-America honor
  • Defeated unseeded Ben Kjar (Utah Valley), 4-2, in the semifinals to advance to his first national final
  • Selected as the 2011 NWCA Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament following the Championships.
  • Finished third in the race for the Hodge Trophy
  • Earned a spot in the national tournament by winning his third Pac-10 Championship in a row, this time with a 15-4 major decision over No. 17 Jason Lara (Oregon State) in the finals
  • Captured titles at the Cliff Keen/Las Vegas Invitational and the Reno Tournament of Champions... named the OW at Las Vegas, Reno, the Lone Star Duals, the Pac-10s and the NCAAs.

  • Scored an 18-2 technical fall over Trent Sprenkle (North Dakota State) in the final of the Reno TOC to capture the 100th win in his career

2009-10 season 

  • Earned his second-consecutive All-America honor by placing seventh at the NCAA Championships (125)
  • Went 4-2 at the national meet with his two losses coming to the eventual second- and fourth-place finishers. Three of his wins produced bonus points, including one major decision, one tech fall and one fall
  • Repeated as the Pac-10 Champion at 125 pounds with a 9-3 decision over No. 16 Jason Lara (Oregon State) in the final
  • Finished second at the Las Vegas Invitational and Reno Tournament of Champions
  • Went 32-4 on the year with a 16-0 mark in duals... opened the year with 10 wins in a row before falling to then-top-ranked Angel Escobedo (Indiana) in the Vegas final... lost 4-3 to No. 7 Eric Morrill (Edinboro) in the Reno final... rolled off 16 wins in a row after the Reno loss... streak was snapped in the NCAA quarterfinals with a 5-3 loss to No. 5 Andrew Long (Iowa State), who he came back from an 11-3 deficit at the start of the third period to defeat in a home dual, 12-10
  • During his 16-match winning streak, won all but three with bonus points, including five majors, three techs, four falls and one forfeit
  • Moved up to third all-time in ASU history with 61 career bonus-point victories
  • School record-holder with 23 wins by technical fall in his career
  • Selected to compete in the NWCA All-Star Classic, but turned down invitation to remain with the team on its road swing through Oklahoma.

2008-09 season 

  • Continued to show improved skill and domination throughout the season as he won the Pac-10 title at 125 pounds and advanced to the national semifinals before earning his first All-America honor by placing fourth at the NCAA Championships
  • Went 4-2 at the national meet with a 3-2 record against ranked foes
  • Won a 9-0 major decision over No. 4 Brandon Precin (Northwestern) and a 19-10 major decision over No. 11 Zachary Sanders (Minnesota)
  • Lone losses came to No. 1 Paul Donahoe (Edinboro) and Precin (in the third-place match)
  • Won nine matches in a row twice with the second streak including the Pac-10 title
  • Rolled through the conference meet with tech fall wins of 16-0 and 17-1 (in the final) and a pin in 3:23 to be named the tournament's OW and Pac-10 Wrestler of the Year
  • Won the Reno Tournament of Champions
  • Third at the Las Vegas Invitational and seventh at the Midlands Championships
  • Went 9-5 against nationally ranked foes
  • His loss to teammate Ben Ashmore at the Midlands was his only loss against an unranked wrestler on the year
  • Most dominant wrestler for the team as he led the way with 10 technical falls (second was two), nine pins (second was three) and was second in majors
  • Had the fastest fall on the team (0:32).

2007-08 season 

  • Had a remarkable rookie campaign that saw him fall one victory shy of earning All-America honors.
  • Went 25-11 on the year with an 11-3 dual record
  • Second on the team in overall wins and tournament wins (14)
  • Led the team in pins (four), tech falls (five) and major decision (seven) victories
  • Placed second at the Pac-10 Championships, losing only a 7-6 decision to No. 4 Tanner Gardner of Stanford in the final
  • Opened the year 6-0 before falling in the final of the Keystone Classic
  • Ranked among the Top 20 nationally all season
  • Upset a higher ranked foe twice, including No. 11 David Tomasette of Hofstra at the NCAA Championships
  • Twice won six bouts in a row during the year
  • His second six-bout streak saw him collect two major decisions, one tech fall and three pins
  • Went 7-0 in dual competition against Pac-10 foes
  • Selected Amateur Wrestling News Second Team All-Rookie at 125 pounds
  • Selected as the team's recipient for the Steve Blackford True Competitor Award.

2006-07 season

  • Redshirted his first year with the program
  • Placed sixth at the FILA Junior National Championships in the 55kg freestyle division.

High school

  • A graduate of Mesa High School (Mesa, Ariz.)
  • Despite being born with only one leg, became one of the top high school wrestlers in the nation.
  • Won the Arizona state championship twice after finishing sixth as a sophomore
  • Went 48-0 in each of his last two seasons and finished his career with a 129-15 record
  • Won the 2006 High School Senior Nationals
  • Lettered three times in wrestling and served as a team captain twice
  • Was coached by former Sun Devil Bobby Williams.
