Why are these changes necessary?
All of these changes are necessary to improve the fan experience and provide a competitive advantage for Sun Devil Football. In the last 10 years our fellow Pac-12 Conference foes have invested more than $1B in stadium renovations, while Sun Devil Stadium has not had any major improvements since the 1980’s. Upgrading our concessions and restrooms, improving the traffic and airflow in the stadium, and adding additional premium seating areas will all help to increase the appeal of attending a Sun Devil Football game. A full stadium equates to a better home field advantage, more successful recruiting and a more fulfilling experience for our student-athletes.
Why are we reducing capacity?
The capacity of Sun Devil Stadium is being reduced as part of the overall reinvention of the facility. The goal of this project is to create a more intimate collegiate football experience by bringing Sun Devil fans closer together and enhance our home field advantage.

Phases II and III of the reinvention of Sun Devil Stadium will take place in the 2016 and 2017 offseasons. Conducting the project in phases allows us to continue to adapt and evolve the scope as needed to accomplish our goals of providing a first-class fan environment and a superior student-athlete experience. Stadium amenities to look forward to are improved concessions with a wide variety of food options, increased quality and number of restrooms, enhanced video boards and sound system, and a contiguous concourse for better pedestrian flow within the stadium. Our goal is to elevate Sun Devil Stadium and create an atmosphere unlike any other venue within the Pac-12 conference.
