15 Members of Sun Devil Baseball Earn All-Pac-10 Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - 15 members of the 2010 Pac-10 Champion Arizona State Sun Devil baseball team earned All-Pac-10 Conference honors, the conference has announced. Seven players were named to the All-Pac-10 Team, while eight others earned honorable mention.

Junior RHP Seth Blair, who was named Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year, and sophomore second baseman Zack MacPhee, who won Pac-10 Player of the Year, led the seven Sun Devils named to the first team. They were joined by senior outfielder Kole Calhoun, sophomore LHP Mitchell Lambson, sophomore shortstop/outfielder Drew Maggi, sophomore closer Jordan Swagerty and sophomore first baseman Riccio Torrez on the first team.

It is the second straight all-conference honor for all seven. Lambson was named to the first team in 2009, while the other six all received honorable mention.

In addition, sophomore catcher Austin Barnes, sophomore RHP Jake Borup, junior RHP Merrill Kelly, freshman SS Deven Marrero, freshman RHP Brady Rodgers, sophomore outfielder Johnny Ruettiger, senior third baseman Raoul Torrez and sophomore designated hitter Zach Wilson all received honorable mention. It is the third straight year Raoul Torrez has earned an honorable mention.

Arizona State led the conference with seven members of the first team. UCLA came in second with five.

Head Coach Tim Esmay was also named Pac-10 Coach of the Year, as ASU swept the conference's top honors for coach, player and pitcher for the third consecutive season.
