Last Time Out For The Sun Devils
Arizona State tied both games of a two-game home series against Wisconsin-Eau Claire last weekend, the first ties in Sun Devil Hockey history. Joe Lappin led the way with a goal in each game and finished with three points, as did Jordan Masters. Liam Norris had two points in Game 2 on Saturday. Ryland Pashovitz and Robert Levin split the games in net, both recording the first ties of their careers.
Last Time Out For The Flames
Liberty picked up a sweep of ACHA Oakland last weekend, led by the six-point performances of Grant Garvin (3-3–6) and Kyle Garcia (4-2–6) on Saturday. They scored seven of the team’s eight goals in an 8-4 victory, which was preceded by a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday. The two wins ended a 1-7 run for the Flames dating back to Dec. 12.
Coach Powers On Facing Liberty
“I've always really respected Liberty and Kirk Handy and how they run their program. Historically we have had a great relationship with them and I'm very happy we get to play them one last time.”
Against The Flames
Sun Devil Hockey has not played Liberty while ASU was a Division I team, but the two have a rivalry dating back to ASU’s ACHA days. The last meeting saw ASU take a 6-4 decision at Oceanside Ice Arena on Oct. 23, 2014.
