Dr. Anikar Chhabra

Dr. Anikar Chhabra is a national expert in the field of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, minimally invasive surgery and sports-related injuries. He also treats complex disorders of the knee such as multiple ligament injuries, articular cartilage procedures, osteotomies, unicompartmental knee replacements, total knee replacements and meniscal transplants. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a BA in Economics. While at Harvard, he was a four-year Varsity Basketball letter winner. As a team orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Chhabra currently is the head orthopedic surgeon for Arizona State University, Paradise Valley College, South Mountain College, the Arizona Assassins Women's professional football team, Copper Semi-Pro football league and twelve local high schools. He is experienced in providing quality care for athletes at all levels, including weekend warriors.

Dr. Chhabra is the first orthopedic surgeon in Arizona to be certified as an ImPACT Specialist (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) the first, most-widely used, and most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system. Dr. Chhabra has authored numerous clinical and scientific orthopedic publications, has served as guest speaker at several national conferences and has received many clinical and research awards. He is currently the Sports Medicine Director of the Banner Good Samaritan Orthopedic Residency Program, the fellowship director for the TOCA/BGS Ortho Sports Medicine Fellowship, and is an adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
