The 2020 season will be Steven Beard’s third season working with Sun Devil Football, his first as a graduate assistant on the coaching staff.
Beard, who will primarily work with the Sun Devil defense, started at ASU as a recruiting assistant (2018) before transitioning to a manager’s position for the 2019 season.
Beard initially joined the coaching ranks as offensive coordinator for Canyon State Academy (AZ) in 2013. After serving as running backs coach/assistant offensive coordinator at Omaha Northwest High School (NE) in 2015, Beard returned to Canyon State Academy where he was offensive coordinator for two seasons (2016-17).
Beard, who earned his BS in Criminology and Criminal Justice from ASU, played for both Solano College (CA) and Mesa College (AZ) before playing professionally for the Wenatchee Venom, a professional arena team in Wenatchee, Wash.
