David Graybill Season 2015

Overview:

• Appeared in 47 games with 28 starts, including 17 as a freshman and 11 as a junior, and appeared in nine games as a pitcher with two starts as a senior
• 64th Sun Devil to contribute both ways as he has pitched and played multiple positions in the infield and outfield as a junior
• Notched a .248 batting average with 25 hits, including seven doubles and a home run, 13 RBI and 17 runs scored

• Made nine appearances, including two starts, and threw 8.1 innings, and appeared in eight games as an outfielder/designated hitter
• Notched a 4.32 ERA with nine strikeouts
• Scored two runs as a pinch runner, including one at Utah (4/4) and one at Washington (4/19)
• Earned his first career save after he took over with two outs in the eighth and recorded four consecutive outs against Abilene Christian (5/19)

Sophomore (2014): 

• Started 11 games, including six at first base, four at right field and one at designated hitter
• Tallied six RBI and scored seven runs on 10 hits, including two doubles and a home run, in 44 at-bats
• Had five multi-hit games
• Hit his first career home run vs New Mexico (2/18)
• Notched a season-high two RBI in a win over Baylor (2/15)
• Made his first career start at right field vs New Mexico (3/12) and went 2-for-4 with an RBI
• Registered an inning-ending outfield assist on an unassisted double play at No. 9 Oklahoma State (5/4)

Freshman (2013): 

• Appeared in 22 games, starting 17 at first base
• Batted .268 (15-for-56) with eight runs and seven RBI
• Started 10 of 11 consecutive games in the beginning of the season
• Went three-for-four with an RBI and two runs scored in his career start against Bethune-Cookman
• Had a season-high three RBI on two hits against Pacific March 1
  Suffered an injury that held him out in May
• Competed for the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate League this summer

MLB Draft:

• Selected by the New York Yankees in the 32nd round (992nd overall) of the 2014 MLB Draft
• Selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 31st round (956th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft

High School:

• Three-year letterman in baseball and one-year letterman in football

Sun Devil Legacy: Graybill is a third-generation Sun Devil. His grandfather, Dave Graybill Sr., is one of only seven three-sport letterman in ASU school history after playing baseball, football and basketball during the mid-50s, and his father, Dave Graybill Jr., starred as a pitcher for the baseball team from 1982-84.
