Devin Kendall begins his third season as a graduate assistant at Arizona State. Kendall will assume quality control duties, which include breaking down video, computer work and assisting with recruiting.
From 1995-97, Kendall was a two-time football letterwinnner at ASU as a tight end before graduating in December of 1997, with a bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Business Administration.
In addition to being a vital cog on ASU's 1996 undefeated Pac-10 season and National Championship run, Kendall excelled off the field, earning GTE Academic All-America honors as well as being selected to the Pac-10 All-Academic Team. Kendall was named the 1996-97 Arizona State University Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and received the Clyde B. Smith award for the highest grade-point average on the football team in 1995.
Prior to Arizona State, Kendall was a two-time All-Conference tight end at Laney College (Oakland, Calif.), earning All-American acclaim and All-Academic honors. Graduating with a 4.0 GPA, Kendall was the Valedictorian of his 1995 class, and was selected as the Wilson's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for the state of California.
Kendall also aided the Tostito's Fiesta Bowl Director in negotiations with the Syracuse Athletic Director, assisted staff from the East-West Shrine Classic in preparation for the 1998 festivities and was a D.A.R.E. role model for children.
Additionally, Kendall spent a year with the Scottish Claymores of the NFL Europe.
