SUN DEVIL DATA: Newcomer to squad this year who played high school hoops in northern California and was a two-year starter in high school who did what the coach asked, and they asked a lot.
SAN RAMON VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years on varsity and overcame major adversity throughout high school years...broke femur (thigh bone) two weeks before start of freshman year and missed whole season...very versatile player...played all positions well whether it be rebouding, defening a guard, jumping center or playing the wing...earned a Super 100 invitationa (top 100 players in northern Calif.) at Double-Pump and Reebok Proving Grounds...posted a triple-double with 15 points, 16 rebounds and 11 blocks...set school season record for double-doubles with 25...earned Cal High Sports Focus Play of the Week with a spectacular block of a dunk.
ETC.: Comes from a long line of college and professional athletes...most notably a cousin, Tremaine Fowlkes who played for California and was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and played for Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons (winning the 2003-2004 championship) and Indiana Pacers...plans to major in business...full name is Brenton Warren Thomas...born June 18, 1990, in Walnut Creek, Calif....father is Maurice and mother is Yvonne...has a younger brother, Sheldon, a pet lizard named Toby and a jet black Crocker Spaniel named Jett.
