Arizona State Career:
2003 Track: Did not compete… 2002 XC: Competed in two races…placed 33rd at the ASU Invitational and captured 65th in the open race at the Pac-10 Championships…was the third-highest ASU finisher in the conference race and sixth in the home event.
Mesa Community College:
Garnered all-American honors in three individual track events and two relays…national runner-up in the NJCAA 800m indoor race…won the 800m title at the Yale Invitational (2002) and the Mt. SAC Community College Invitational (2002)…cross country academic all-American…all-conference in cross country once and twice in track… named the MCC Athlete of the Year in 2002.
High School:
Captained his high school teams three times, twice in cross country and once in track…won the 800m conference championship in 1998…team most valuable runner for cross country in 1997 and track in 1998.
Personal:
Majoring in marketing and finance…parents are Tony Santa Cruz and Mary Stewart...has two siblings, Christopher and Tom...born Jan. 25, 1981, in Mesa, Ariz.…enjoys traveling, cycling and snowboarding.
