Former Clemson University women's soccer assistant coach Alyssa O'Brien begins her first season as an assistant coach at Arizona State where her main responsibilities will be goalkeeper trainer, recruiting coordinator and assisting Head Coach, Ray Leone with all aspects of
the program.
O'Brien assisted Clemson to two Elite Eight appearances in both 1999 and 2000. While at Clemson, O'Brien helped lead the Tigers to the school's first Atlantic Coast Conference regular season title.
O'Brien's goalkeeper garnered ACC Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2000, as well as All-South honors in 1999. Under O'Brien's tutelage, Clemson's goalkeepers and defense had the ACC's lowest team goals-against average in both 1999 and 2000.
Prior to her start at Clemson, O'Brien was a student assistant at The University of Central Florida where she was a four-year starter. During her career as a goalkeeper, she earned all-conference honors all four years, including being named to the All-South team in 1998.
Additionally, O'Brien's experiences do not end on the soccer field. O'Brien also worked at Disney's Wide World of Sports as a Special Events Coordinator.
