No. 19 Women?s Tennis Looks To Continue Dominance

TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 19 Arizona State women’s tennis team will look to continue their dominant play with matches at home this week against Pepperdine and San Jose State before a quick trip to Pullman, Wash.

After a successful Pac-12 road trip, the Sun Devils will be home this week to take on the No. 16 Pepperdine on Thursday, Mar. 19 at 1:30 p.m. MT and No. 53 San Jose State on Friday, Mar. 20 at 11 a.m. MT. Soon after, the Sun Devils will make a quick trip to Pullman, Wash. to take on Washington State on Sunday, Mar. 22 at 11 a.m. PT/Noon MT.

With four sweeps in a row and six since Feb. 20, the Sun Devils are showing no mercy on the tennis courts as they have reached No. 19 in this week’s ITA national team rankings.

No. 26 junior Desirae Krawczyk continues to dominate on the court as Krawczyk and junior Stephanie Vlad are ranked at No. 44 in the nation as pair. Also ranked in doubles, senior Joanna Smith and sophomore Kassidy Jump grab No. 75 in the nation.

A few Sun Devil opponents are also featured in this week ITA tennis rankings as Pepperdine’s Lorraine Guillermo and Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai rank No. 15 and No. 90, respectively. Pepperdine’s Metae Cutura and Christine Maddox, also ranked in tied for No. 73 as pairs.

Next weekend, the Sun Devils will be back in Tempe to continue Pac-12 play against No. 10 Stanford on Friday, Mar. 27 at 1:30 p.m. MT and No. 3 California on Saturday, Mar. 28 at Noon MT.
