BATON ROUGE -- The Arizona State women's golf team finished the second round with a 10-over 298 as a team, while freshman Linnea Strom remains in the top-10 at even par (144).
The No. 10 Sun Devils currently sit in seventh place and one spot out of the cut to make the NCAA Championships, as the low six teams will advance following Saturday's final round.

"We played well on the front nine today, but struggled on the back nine," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "We put ourselves in a few difficult positions to make more pars on the back. We want to play tomorrow the same way we have played all year, and that is with confidence and resiliency."
The front nine played in the Devils favor, as the top four combined to go 2-under par. The back nine was just the opposite, as the tougher stretch led to a 12-over performance.
Strom, the Pac-12 individual champion, played consistent golf for a 1-over 73 round on day two to remain in the hunt. She is just one of 10 players in the field who are even par or better through the first two rounds.
As a team, ASU is playing the par-5's better than any team in the field currently at 7-under par. Sophomore Roberta Liti is a key contributor to that overall total, as she tallied a birdie and an eagle on Friday. The Devils also have the second-most made birdies in the field with 30.
In order to advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., the Devils will need to move into the top six over the final 18 holes on Saturday.
