Texas Head Coach Augie Garido:
"I want to say that Beau Hale did an outstanding job. He had a major league type of performance."
"Arizona State had the ability to put the ball in play with two strikes. We stood up well. The hits they got with two strikes was good hitting."
"We missed the big hit in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. One timely hit was what we needed. We were missing the hit that scored a run to tie and win the game."
Texas Pitcher Beau Hale:
"It was hot out there. The one inning they had with four infield hits in a row was big. I think I lost my composure, but I beared down after that fourth inning."
"The four straight infield hits were a little bit of bad luck. They were reaching out and putting the ball in play with two strikes."
"We knew coming in that they (ASU) was leading the nation in runs, but we treated it like any other college baseball team. We needed to pitch and throw strikes. It was a good college baseball game."
Texas player Tommy Nicholson:
"We just didn't get the big hit. We tried and just didn't today. Beau (Hale) did everything to win. It was frustrating. We need to score more next game. We didn't expect to have only one run."
Texas Player Ryan Hubele:
"Their (ASU) pitchers scattered hits around. We didn't come up with the big hit. We need to not dwell on the past and get ready for the next game."
Arizona State Head Coach Pat Murphy:
"I give credit to the Texas team. They are a heck of a ball club. The kid who pitched was awesome. His demeanor on the mound was special. He pitched a heck of a game."
"We were efficient with runners on base. The offensive guys made adjustments when we had to."
"It was a pretty emotional game. It was gut wrenching. There was a lot of emotion. We have a lot of brand new guys. Phelps and Myers really are holding this team together."

"The key to my pitching was making pitches in big situations with runners on base. I made pitcher's pitches and we did a great job doing it."

"Hale was on it from the get-go. We had fortunate balls and things go our way. He threw some nice pitches. I was seeing the ball good. I tip my hat to Beau. He is a great guy and a great competitor."
