June 22, 2006

TEMPE, Ariz. - Former Arizona State All-American baseball player Travis Buck has been selected to play in the 2006 All-Star Futures Game in Pittsburgh on July 9th. Buck is one of 25 players on the US squad, who will face the World team during Major League Baseball All-Star Sunday. The 50 players for both teams were selected by Major League Baseball and Baseball America.

Buck was a first round draft choice of the Oakland A's in the 2005 draft after leading ASU to the College World Series. Buck was a two-time First Team All-Pac-10 selection, and earned All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball and the NCBWA following his junior season.

Buck currently leads all minor leaguers in extra base hits playing for the Midland Rockhounds, the A's AA affiliate. Buck is the first Sun Devil ever selected to play in the All-Star Futures Game.
