CLEVELAND, Ohio - Four football letterwinners have been selected to represent the Arizona State University football team on this year's Preseason All-Pac-12 Team as selected by Phil Steele.
Running back Cameron Marshall, linebacker Brandon Magee and kick returner Jamal Miles were named to the second team, while defensive tackle Will Sutton along with offensive lineman Evan Finkenberg were named to the fourth team. Miles was also named to the offensive fourth team roster in the wide receiver slot.
The all-conference selections are a part of Phil Steele's 2012 College Football Preview, one of the nation's most informative preseason football magazines. The magazine, which hits newsstands June 5th, has always provided a preseason All-American team as well as preseason All-Conference teams.
Cameron Marshall, a senior standout on the squad, tied the ASU record for most rushing touchdowns in a season last year with 18. His 29 career rushing TDs is fourth in Sun Devil history. He was named All-Pac-10/12 Honorable Mention in 2010 and 2011, and was on Phil Steele's All-Pac-12 third team last season.
Brandon Magee returns to redshirt his senior year, and is projected to be a major leader on this year's roster. Magee recorded 73 tackles and one and a half sacks in his 2010 season after appearing in all 12 games.
Jamal Miles, one of the speediest on the Arizona State roster, drew widespread attention as a return specialist. His 788 kickoff return yards, the second highest single-season total in ASU history, earned him a second team All-Pac-12 selection, alongside his three kickoff-return TDs. In the wide receiver slot, Miles has had 10 receiving touchdowns throughout his tenure, six of which came last season.
Defensive tackle Will Sutton, a junior from Corona, Calif., started 12 games in the DT slot for Arizona State last season. He tallied 33 tackles on the year, including two and a half sacks and five and a half tackles for loss.
Left Tackle Evan Finkenberg will anchor a young offensive line with his experience, having over 20 starts in two years with ASU.
