Miami Head Coach Tracy Smith:
"I was pleased with the ways the guys responded in the short amount of time after last night's marathon. We regrouped and battled hard. I am pleased we are still alive and looking forward to tonight."
"I was very upset with the way we played last night. That kind of effort is not acceptable. It has been 17 years since Miami has appeared in a Regional and it wasn't pleasant watching the effort last night."
"We didn't play that well today but we took advantage of their mistakes. We got on a roll and were able to push a few runs across."
Miami Pitcher Chris Leonard:
"The heat is different here. I don't usually go past the seventh inning. I just ran out of gas. It wasn't that my arm got tired."
"The Creighton hitters were very good. They put the bat on the ball. I think I only ad two strikeouts, so that says a lot about the opposing hitters."
Creighton Head Coach Jack Dahm
"I was disappointed in the concentration level of our team today. At one point we were out hitting them 8 to 1 but we were still down."
"Our concentration wasn't the best, and not just today, the entire 2nd half of our season."
"It was a disappointing finish to our season."
"There were a lot of things that happened, wrong places on cutoffs, and we didn't have the awareness where we needed it to be. We also weren't able to drive in runs."
"When we make 1 error, it seems to carry over to 2 errors. We can't be allowing 4 runs in an inning because of errors. We could have played better late in the season."
Creighton Player Chris Hinrichs:
" Our hitting wasn't where it has been. Corey (Slining) was throwing the ball well."
