USA Volleyball Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Arizona State volleyball setter Allison Palmer was named to the 2012 USA Women's Junior National Volleyball Team as announced by USA Volleyball Friday morning. Palmer will represent the US at the 2013 FIVB World Championship in Brno, Czech Republic.
Allison Palmer will join the 12-player roster for the Junior National Team as it plays at the 2013 FIVB Volleyball Women's Under 20 World Championship from June 21-30 in the Czech Republic. Five of her national club teammates hale from the Pac-12 Conference.
Palmer was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team this past year and set the ASU single-season assists and freshman season assists record (1482) in her first collegiate season.
"Allison's inclusion in the Jr. National Team is a tribute to her work ethic and commitment to being an outstanding teammate," said head coach Jason Watson. "She will be a wonderful representative of ASU and work to bring home a medal with the USA Team."
After training for the past week at the US Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, N.Y., the team will leave Saturday for the Czech Republic and will train for four days prior to the first match.
