STANFORD, Calif. – The Arizona State women's gymnastics team finished the season Saturday afternoon in the first session of the 2017 Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships. The Gym Devils hit a season high 49.275 on beam in the final rotation, totaling their second highest score on the season, a 195.600. That team total is the highest team total for the Gym Devils at Pac-12s since 2004 when they scored a 196.775.

"I'm really proud of how the team competed today," said head coach Jay Santos. "It was great to see the team respond and finish the year with a great performance. We definitely came out today and had our most complete meet of the season. I think it really shows all the hard work that this group put in this year, and all the progress that we have made during the season."

The season high on beam was courtesy of all five counting scores at 9.825 or higher. Sophomore Heather Udowitch and freshman Ashley Szafranski both hit career highs of 9.875 to lead the Gym Devils. Junior Nichelle Christopherson and sophomore Katelyn Lentz added a pair of 9.850s while sophomore Justine Callis posted a career high 9.825. Senior Beka Conrad scored a 9.750 in her final routine as a Sun Devil.

"We started off just a little slow on floor but we were able to keep building on each event and really picked it up when we got to bars," said Santos. "Beam did an outstanding job to close out the meet for us and I believe we had several career highs!"

Bars was also a strong event for ASU as they recorded a 48.925 event total. Sophomore Morgan Wilson paced the team with a 9.825 while Szafranski and sophomore Eileen Imbus contributed a pair of 9.800s. Szafranski has hit a 9.8+ in four of the last five meets.

Lentz and Ginn led the Gym Devils on floor, each scoring a 9.800. That is Lentz's sixth consecutive 9.8+ on the season while it was a career high for Ginn. Callis and fellow sophomore Corinne Belkoff each added a 9.750 to ASU's total 48.725 on the event.

On vault, Wilson and Ginn both hit 9.800s for their Yurchenko fulls.

Lentz posted a 39.075 in the all-around and Christopherson scored a 38.875.

The Pac-12 Champion will be determined at the conclusion of the second session.
