Tempe, Ariz. – Embarking on a new era of Sun Devil Women's Tennis under first-year head coach Jamea Jackson, the quest for the team's 37th consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance will commence on January 18, 2025 with a doubleheader against Loyola Marymount (LMU) and UC San Diego at Whiteman Tennis Center.
The women's tennis program announced their 21-game slate that will begin in mid-January for Jamea Jackson, featuring their first season competing in the Big 12 Conference with road trips to Oklahoma State and TCU, and facing familiar foes against Washington and Oregon in February.
The Sun Devils boast a 96-24 all-time record against Big 12 competition with a winning record over nine teams in the conference.
The maroon and gold will welcome LMU and UC San Diego on Jan. 18 to open the season, slated for an 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. start at Whiteman Tennis Center. Then the team will travel to the East Coast to the ITA Kickoff Event in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Jan. 25-26 to face Wisconsin, and either North Carolina or Alabama.
The Sun Devils will return to Whiteman Tennis Center for a match against Pepperdine on Feb. 1, then, after a week off, go back on the road to face old Pac-12 rivals Oregon and Washington on Feb. 13 and Feb. 15.
The team will wrap up the three-game road trip against San Diego on Feb. 22, before returning home to open Big 12 play against Utah on Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. and BYU on March 1st at 1 p.m.
Then, the first road trip of Big 12 conference play will be at Kansas on March 7, and at Iowa State at 11 a.m. before returning back to Tempe to face West Virginia on March 14 and Cincinnati on March 16th.
The maroon & gold will then have a 3-match road trip, starting with visiting the reigning Big 12 champions at Oklahoma State on March 21, then Kansas State on the 23rd. Then traveling to Tucson against in-state rival Arizona on March 29th.
The final home weekend at Whiteman Tennis Center will be on April 4th against TCU at 4 p.m. and senior day will be on April 6th against Baylor at 12 p.m. before heading on the road to wrap up the regular season against Texas Tech at 5 p.m. on April 11th. and Colorado on April 13 at 2 p.m.
The team will then begin postseason play at the Big 12 Championships on April 16th running through April 19th in Waco, Texas.
The NCAA championships begin with regional play with a date to be determined. Baylor University is set to host the National Championships set for May 15-18 at Herd Tennis Center.
In the final ITA poll of the fall, the Sun Devils have three ranked singles players inside the top-100 in the country. Featuring NCAA Qualifier Emilija Tverijonaite ranked No. 24, Sara Svetac being tabbed at No. 49 and Ada Piestrzynska entering the fall season ranked No. 98.
