Sun Devil Baseball Places Nine On All-Pac-12 AwardsSun Devil Baseball Places Nine On All-Pac-12 Awards
PHOENIX - Nine Sun Devils were recognized on All-Pac-12 teams, as voted upon by the league's coaches and announced by the conference Tuesday morning.

Sun Devil Baseball placed Luke Keaschall and Ryan Campos on the All-Pac-12 Team, while landing Isaiah Jackson on the All-Defensive-Team in addition to six honorable mentions.

With nine players recognized, ASU now has 331 all-time Pac-12 All-Conference selections, with 162 being First Team picks and 169 as Honorable Mentions.

Luke Keaschall - Junior - Infielder - First Team
  • Luke Keaschall was named Arizona States' On Deck Circle MVP, and for good reason.
  • He was third in the nation with 25 doubles in the regular season while also piecing 17 home runs. He hit .349 and played in all 53-games for the Sun Devils.
  • Keaschall led the Sun Devils with a .722 slugging percentage during the regular season and had a team-high seven go-ahead hits.
  • Going into the final home series of the season against UCLA, he was fifth Pac-12 with 61 weighted runs created this season while his 24 weighted runs above average are fourth in the league.
  • Moved to the cleanup spot in the batting order after leading off for the first month of the season (and batting only .213 through 13 games), Keaschall now sits 10th in the Pac-12 with a .347 average.
  • In Pac-12 regular season games, Keaschall batted .364, the fourth-highest average in the league. His .822 slugging percentage in conference-only games is second in the league while his 34 Pac-12 RBIs are fourth in the conference.
  • With four more homers, Keaschall would join Bob Horner as the only other player in Sun Devil history in the 20-20 club with 20 homers and 20 doubles.
  • In four games against Utah Tech and Utah, the second baseman hit .625 (10-for-16) with 11 RBI, eight runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and a pair of stolen bases en-route to Pac-12 Player of the Week honors and recognized by Collegiate Baseball News as one of its National Players of the Week.
  • Keaschall, along with being named the On Deck Circle MVP, was also the recipient of the Alvin Davis Leadership Award and the Outstanding Offensive Player Award.
Ryan Campos - Sophomore - Catcher - First Team
  • ASU's most reliable presence over the last two seasons, Ryan Campos has earned his first recognition to the First Team after picking up an honorable mention honor last year.
  • Campos has reached base in a ridiculous 76-of-84 (90.4%) career games with the Sun Devils overall and all but two games this season. The two games he did not reach base were the season opener and the first game after he returned from an 11-game injury absence.
  • Campos was named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List and also tabbed as the Pac-12 Player of the Week after the Washington State series.
  • In 42 games this season, Campos smacked .395 with 16 extra-base hits including eight home runs. He walked 33 times and struck out on a mere 16 occurrences.
  • Campos' 33 earned free passes are 12th in the league, yet because of his injury, he has the fewest games played of anyone in the top 50 in the category.
  • His .395 average is fourth in the Conference of Champions and his .508 OBP is second by .01 points in the league.
  • Additionally, his .375 career-batting average is 23rd among active players in Division I and he is the highest ranked catcher on the list.
  • Campos was named the Jim Brock Mr. Sun Devil at the squad's end-of-season awards banquet at the end of the regular season. Named for the legendary and late Dr. Jim Brock, the award is presented to the student-athlete who best exemplifies the attitude and character expected of a Sun Devil Baseball Player.
  • For his elite efforts behind the plate, Campos was named as a Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Semifinalist.
Isaiah Jackson - Freshman - Outfielder - Defensive Team
  • ASU's Defensive Player of the Year was named to the All-Pac-12 Defensive Team as a true freshman.
  • Of the nine players on the All-Defensive Team, Jackson is one of only two true-freshman to be recognized.
  • Jackson had one outfield assist and a measly three errors, good for a .976 fielding percentage in his freshman season patrolling centerfield.
Wyatt Crenshaw - Senior - Infielder - Honorable Mention
  • In the regular season, Crenshaw batted .270 while slugging .490. He had nine home runs, 32 RBI, a triple and 16 doubles, the later ending the regular season good for fourth in the league.
  • Entering the UCLA series to end the regular season, Crenshaw had been at his best late in games, with a .514 batting average/.692 slugging percentage in the seventh innings and a .448 average/.550 slugging in the eighth inning of games.
Nu'u Contrades - Freshman - Infielder - Honorable Mention
  • Honored as the Bobby Winkles Award winner, Nu'u Contrades has himself at home in the valley as a true-freshman.
  • ASU's third baseman batted .295 with 19 extra base hits and 37 RBI in the 2023 regular season.
  • He obliterated the University of Arizona in the three-game series in Tempe, Contrades was 7-14 (.500) with eight RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and two home runs in Sun Devil Baseball's sweep of the foes down south. He also plated the winning run in Saturday's series-securing victory and scored it in the series finale Sunday.
  • He led the team with 10 RBIs (of 31 total for the week for ASU) with a .947 slugging percentage while batting .474 on 9-of-19 hitting in four total games that week.
Ross Dunn - Junior - Left-Handed Pitcher - Honorable Mention
  • Ross Dunn spent most of the season as ASU's Friday night starter, tossing two of ASU's four quality starts on the season (UC Davis, at USC).
  • Dunn had the lowest ERA of any Sun Devil starter,  hurling a 4.27 ERA in 15 starts and 65.1 innings pitched. He struck out 84 to 44 walks and allowed just 17 extra base hits.
  • Opponents are hitting a measly .254 off Dunn.
  • Dunn has three starts in league play (at Cal, Washington State, Washington) with at least eight strikeouts.
  • His ERA is 14th-best in league play action.
Luke Hill - Freshman - Infielder - Honorable Mention
  • ASU's Newcomer of the Year, Luke Hill had a dazzling freshman campaign. He hit 314, in 52 games and scored 41 runs with 61 hits, 11 doubles, six HR, 42 RBI and 23 walks.
  • He had a higher average, more runs, more walks and less strikeouts in more games played than the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honoree, Malcolm Moore.
  • He had the massive go-ahead RBI in the rubber match against Cal with his eighth inning RBI single that was part of a massive nine-run inning to complete the comeback. He would do the exact same less than two weeks later with a two-RBI single against GCU to cap off ASU's nine-run eighth inning with the go-ahead RBIs in that game as well as part of the team's seven-run comeback. Hill had five-RBI in the eighth inning of the road game at GCU alone, with a three-run homer and that two-RBI single.
  • He also ended #23 Oregon's no-hitter in the fifth inning in Sunday's contest  with his two-run blast that was the catalyst to another five-run come-from-behind victory.
  • In fact, of his last 25 RBIs, 16 have come in eight different games when the Sun Devils have trailed by 3+ runs. ASU has come back to win five of those games. His 42 overall RBIs this season are third on the team and 22nd in the Pac-12.
  • After a solo shot for his first career homer, all five homers since then have come with at least one man on, including four three-run shots.
  • His 145 assists were third in the conference.
Nick McLain - Freshman - Outfielder - Honorable Mention
  • After missing the first part of the 2023 season with injury, Nick McLain joined Sun Devil Baseball in a loud fashion in early April.
  • He went 3-for-6 with four RBIs  - including a two-run insurance missile in the ninth during his collegiate debut, a road win over Grand Canyon. He also dotted an outfield assist in the first.
  • Overall, he batted .301 with four doubles, eight home runs and 22 RBI at the top of ASU's lineup.
  • He also had five outfield assists from right field, including a pivotal cutdown at the plate against UCLA in the final series of the regular season.
Jacob Tobias - Sophomore - Infielder - Honorable Mention
  • Jacob Tobias got the first RBI of the 2023 season with his RBI single in the first inning of Opening Night and that has been a trend for his season.
  • Tobias leads the team with 58 RBIs this season - good for a tie for sixth in the Pac-12. His 16-multi-RBI games pace the team as well.
  • The RBI tally is especially notable as he had just 29 total RBIs in the entirety of last season.
  • Tobias has been deadly the second time through the order, recording 22 of his RBIs in the fourth or fifth innings of games, typically when he sees a starter for the second or third time in a game. Tobias has recorded an RBI in 11 of the last 17 games and 32  games overall (60.3%).
  • While not looking the part, his four triples this season give him five for his career, marking him the active career leader in the category at ASU in games played for the Sun Devils. The four triples this season are Top-35 nationally and fourth in the Pac-12.
  • He is an incredible 7-for-9 this season with the bases loaded and has brought a runner home from third with less than two outs 75 percent of the time (15-of-20)
Sun Devil Baseball is playing for its tournament life Thursday, as it faces Oregon State at 10 a.m. MST at Scottsdale Stadium, spring training home of the San Francisco Giants. Along with a win, ASU needs UCLA and Stanford to win to advance to the semifinals. ASU would play the Trojans if they were to advance.
