TEMPE, Ariz. – Riding a five-match winning streak, Arizona State volleyball is heading down to Tucson for the Bear Down Beach Tournament to play four different teams this weekend: North Florida, No. 15 Arizona, New Mexico and Louisiana-Monroe.

Ever since switching up four of the five pairs on March 9, the Sun Devils (7-3) have won their last five matches, four of which were 5-0 sweeps. They are off to the best start in program history. ASU will look for its second win over a ranked opponent. On the first day of the season, the team took down No. 16 Grand Canyon.

The current roster is taking hold of the record book.
Katelyn Carballo and
Ellyson Lundberg have a 33-14 record in their careers, which puts them in second all-time. They need nine more wins to take the top spot. Right behind them are two other Sand Devil pairs:
Kate Baldwin and
Samantha Plaster in third and
Katie Cross and
Cierra Flood in fourth.

Opponents Outlook
North Florida (7-4) | March 15, 11:15 a.m. MST
- This will be the second match between ASU and North Florida. Just last weekend in Florida, the Sun Devils won 5-0, but four of the five courts went to three sets.
- At the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay last weekend, the Ospreys went 2-2, beating Eckerd and St. Leo.
- UNF is currently receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Poll.
No. 15 Arizona (6-2) | March 15, 4:30 p.m. MST
- A half point in the Territorial Cup Series is on the line in this matchup.Â
- The Wildcats have won three of their last four matches, the loss coming against No. 14 Stanford.
- ASU is 1-7 against Arizona in program history, the last win coming in Tucson in 2017. The Wildcats have won the last three meetings.Â
- Arizona went 20-12 in 2018, finishing the season at the Pac-12 tournament in a loss to California.
New Mexico (4-6) | March 16, 10 a.m. MST
- The Lobos are another team that the Sun Devils have already beaten this season. On the first day of the season, ASU beat New Mexico in a 5-0 sweep.
- New Mexico has won four of the last five matches coming into this weekend, three of which were sweeps.
Louisiana-Monroe (7-3) | March 16, 12 p.m. MST
- ULM has lost the last two matches after winning five in a row.
- Last season, the Warhawks went 9-12 throughout the season.
- This is the first meeting between ASU and ULM.
