--Swift selected by A's in eighth-round of 2021 Draft (career bio updated)
JUNIOR (2020):
- Drew Swift was Mr. Sun Devil for ASU last season, seeing time at second base, shortstop, center field and right field.
- Swift was on an unreal tear over the final seven games, recording five-straight multi-hit efforts at one point and two of those being four-hit contests. In that five-game stretch, Swift went 15-of-29 (.517) with a team-best 13 RBIs
- Swift led the team in batting average, sitting at .365 overall on the season with a team-best 23 hits - 3 more than any of his teammates.
- He was easily ASU’s best hitter with runners in scoring position, going 11-for-24 (.524) with 3 more hits than any teammate.
- His clutch hitting has also stood out as he was the team’s best hitter with two outs, going 9-for-22 (.409).
- Swift had a team-best 8 multi-hit games - 2 more than any of his teammates - and was the only player on the squad to record a 4-hit game in the shortened season and did so twice.
- Swift helped turn 10 double plays this season - the third-most in the Pac-12 and most among non-first basemen
SOPHOMORE (2019):
- Despite missing three weeks to injury, Drew Swift showed he was one of ASU’s most improved hitters throughout the season, in addition to his deft glove at second base
- Was named to the Pac-12 honorable mention All-Defensive team
- He has nine doubles this season - a career-best - and a triple for 10 extra-base hits on the season despite missing several weeks to injury. He had just two extra-base hits as a freshman
- Swift was a part of 36 double plays, despite the time missed, good for fourth in the Pac-12 in the category and second among non-first basemen. He helped ASU turn 61 double plays on the season - sixth in the nation and first in the Pac-12
- His 135 defensive assists were good for 7th in the Pac-12.
- Managed to to reach base at a .375 clip on the season - over .100 points higher than his batting average as he provided a valuable tool at the bottom of the ASU order
- Became the first Sun Devil since Jake Peevyhouse in 2014 to have three doubles in a game, doing so against San Diego.
FRESHMAN (2018):
- Started in 54 of 55 games as a true freshman, splitting time between both middle infield positions.
- Displayed advanced maturity which reflected in his approach at the plate, as he drew 24 walks (2nd on the team) which helped him reach base at a .321 clip.
- Recorded 31 hits, 27 runs scored, and 15 RBIs in his first collegiate season.
- Finished first on the team with 158 assists and executed 30 double plays.
- Contributed to the team in many ways, including registering a team-high 12 sacrifice hits and reaching base via hit by a pitch four times.
- Put together eight multi-hit performances on the season.
HIGH SCHOOL:
- Served as the team's starting shortstop and closer
- Played all four years on Hamilton’s varsity squad
- Career batting average of .355 with 118 hits and 107 runs in 102 varsity games
- Recorded 10 career saves with a 2.89 ERA in 26 appearances totaling 36.1 innings
- Key member of the 2016 AIA DI Championship team that finished ranked No. 18 nationally
- Rated the No. 13 overall player in Arizona and No. 4 shortstop in the state; Top-350 rated player nationally and listed as a Top-60 shortstop in the country by Perfect Game
