DeNae Chatman Season 2018

Senior (2021)

• Started 42 out of 44 games in her senior campaign.
• Continued her run as the Sun Devils everyday first baseman, with 42 putouts and a career high eight assists.
• Had her best offensive performance against Arizona on 4/18 going 2-2 with two home runs, three RBIs and two walks.
• One of three Sun Devils to be intentionally walked this year.
• Graduated in the Spring with a BS in Speech and Hearing Science.

Junior (2020)

• Started all of the Sun Devils' 29 games as first baseman in 2020 - a continuation of her role last season
• Batted a .299 with a .453 on-base percentage and an impressive .537 slugging percentage.
• Denae continued to produce from the batter's box during her 67 at-bats, the junior connected on 20 hits and notched 16 runs with 13 RBI. 
• She hit five home runs, including in back-to-back games at Mary Nutter against Auburn and New Mexico. 
• Chatman was walked a monumental 19 times by opposing teams. 

Sophomore (2019)

• Took over as the Sun Devils everyday first baseman, playing and starting all 55 games in 2019 at the position
• Continued to hit for power in 2019, connecting on 21 extra-base hits, including 12 homers on the season
• Concluded her sophomore campaign with an impressive .580 slugging percentage 
• Turned in a three-hit outing against Stanford on April 26, setting a new single-game career high for hits
• Finished the year with two games with five or more RBI, including a five RBI performance against conference foe Cal on May 5th. 

Freshman (2018)

• Honored as one of the top 15 freshman in the Pac-12, earning a place on the 2018 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
• Paced the Sun Devils with a team-high .663  slugging percentage, and fifth in batting average (.292).
• Ended the 2018 season on a nine game hitting streak, finishing 9-for-28 with an impressive 10 RBI’s in that stretch of games.
• On May 4^th, Chatman delivered a 2-for-3 display as she blasted a go-ahead two run home run to beat Stanford (5/6).
• Tallied a season high three RBI against Utah in game one of the three-game road series (4/27).
• Accumulated 15 extra-base hits in only 89 at bats in the 2018 season.
• In a matchup against conference foe and first ranked UCLA, Chatman smashed a pair of home runs ito end the 2018 regular season.
• Recorded four home runs against top-5 teams (Oregon, UCLA).

Prior To ASU

• Was a versatile utility player out of Millennium High School in Goodyear, Ariz.
• Chatman comes to ASU following back-to-back seasons of being named to Section Player of the Year.
• In her senior season Chatman earned All-Division First Team honors as well as All-Arizona First Team recognition. 

Personal
Denae, the daughter of Lamar and Kelly Chatman, has one younger brother, LeeAron. Chatman will enroll to ASU in the fall of 2017 and take classes to help her pursue a career in dermatology. Chatman Chose ASU over Washington, Stanford, Georgia and Arizona.
