TEMPE  –  Sun Devil Women's Tennis (12-7, 7-4 Big 12) wraps up the regular season in their final road trip before the Big 12 Championships. Taking on No. 15 Texas Tech (17-2, 10-1 Big 12) on Friday at 3 p.m. AZT and Colorado (8-11, 2-9 Big 12) on Sunday at 1 p.m. AZT.

Arizona State is currently ranked No. 33 in the country and Friday's match against the Red Raiders will be streamed on playsight with live stats available on StatBroadcast. The match against Colorado can be tracked on live stats. The Big 12 Championship is set to begin on April 16th in Waco, Texas.
 
Sun Devil Outlook:
No. 33 Arizona State (12-7, 7-4 Big 12)
  • The Sun Devils have a 3-3 record against Texas Tech all-time.
  • ASU is undefeated against Colorado, with a 14-0 record against the Buffaloes. The last four victories for the Sun Devils have been 4-0 sweeps including nine sweeps all-time.
  • Sara Svetac is currently on a five-match winning streak in singles play boasting an 11-3 record playing from the #1 and #2 spots this season.
  • The duo of Emilija Tverijonaite and Aiya Nupbay hold a 6-2 record in Big 12 Conference play with wins in each of their last three outings.
  • Tverijonaite and Svetac both have 10+ wins in singles play this spring, including six wins apiece in Big 12 play.
    • Svetac recently won her 30th career singles match as a Sun Devil last week.
  • The Sun Devils have four players with six conference wins in singles (Aiya Nupbay, Sara Svetac, Emilija Tverijonaite and Lily Taylor)
  • Patricija Spaka won her 60th career singles win against TCU last weekend, clinching the win with a straight sets 6-4, 6-1 victory.

Opponent Outlook
No. 15 Texas Tech (17-2, 10-1 Big 12)
  • The Red Raiders have won each of the last three meetings against the Sun Devils. All three victories have come by a score of 4-3.
  • Texas Tech currently rides a six-match winning streak heading into the weekend slate and are tied atop the Big 12 standings with a 10-1 record.
  • The Red Raiders are undefeated at home this season enjoying a 6-0 record at McLeod Tennis Center.
  • The No. 6 doubles pair of Avelina Sayfetdinova and Mariia Hlahola hold an impressive 21-3 record as a duo.
  • The Red-Raiders have Mariia Hlahola and Hailey Murphy holding the 66th ranked spot in the country with a 5-1 record.
  • Kate Dmitrichenko is 9-1 this season from the #3 spot and currently holds a six-match win streak in singles. Texas Tech has a .875 winning percentage from the #3 spot this spring.
  • The Red Raiders have a winning percentage of .750 or better on courts three through six on the season.

Colorado (8-11, 2-9 Big 12)
  • The Buffaloes secured their first Big 12 road victory last time out against West Virginia.
  • Mila Stanojevic won her 20th singles match of the season, boasting the best singles record on the team (20-15).
  • Colorado boasts an 8-4 record from the #5 spot this season with a majority of the victories coming from Pia Rebec.

Last Time Out:
The Sun Devils split their final two home matches of the season at Whiteman Tennis Center last weekend. ASU started with a 4-0 sweep of No. 37 TCU on Friday followed by a four-hour bout with No. 27 Baylor on Sunday, ultimately falling short 4-3. In Friday's win over the Horned Frogs, the Sun Devils won all their singles matches in straight sets. Against the Bears, there were four sets in singles decided in a tiebreak with two of coming in the deciding match between Emilija Tverijonaite and Baylor's Cristina Tiglea. 

IN THE RANKINGS:
The Sun Devils boast two players in the top 50 in the latest ITA Rankings as of April 10. Tverijonaite is ranked 49th in the country after an NCAA tournament appearance and is currently 10-5 on the year. Sara Svetac entered the top 50 at the end of the fall and is currently No. 45. The Sun Devils are one of two teams (Oklahoma State) in the Big 12 to have at least two singles players ranked in the top 50 in the ITA rankings.

The Sun Devil doubles pairs, Spaka and Taylor are No. 60 in the country.

MAGNIFICENT MILLIE:
Emilija Tverijonaite became the first Sun Devil to qualify for the NCAA Singles tournament since 2021 and went 12-2 during the fall season. The sophomore has double-digit singles wins this spring at a 10-5 mark and helped clinch the win over Cincinnati She is currently ranked No. 49 in the ITA rankings and has won six of the last seven doubles matches. Nupbay and Tverijoniate lead the team with six doubles wins with a 6-2 record.

Tverijonaite is one of four Sun Devils with six conference wins in singles, boasting a 6-3 record. This season, she set a career high with 22 singles wins after posting 21 victories in her freshman season. So far as a Sun Devil, she has a 43-14 record. 

SUPER SARA:
The Sophomore is currently 11-3 this season and has split time between the #1 and #2 spots in singles. She has a 5-1 record from the #2 spot this spring. Svetac was named Big 12 Player of the Week and earned a top-15 victory over Savannah Broadus of Pepperdine on Feb. 1. Svetac came off a successful fall season where she went 8-4 and is also 9-5 in doubles when paired with Karin Altori.

The Croatian has had a successful sophomore campaign, earning a top-50 ranking in singles. She's coming off a ranked win over Arizona's Josie Usereau for her second-ranked win of the year on March 29.

SPARKY MILESTONES:
The senior is currently 8-4 in singles after playing from the #3 spot this season. Additionally, she has won ten of her first 11 matches in doubles and racked up a 10-3 record in doubles alongside partner Lily Taylor. From Latvia, she currently sits at 60 career wins in singles and recently notched her 70th career double win. Spaka has 130 wins as a Sun Devil between singles and doubles matches combined in her four years. Her 60 wins in singles play make her the 38th Sun Devil to reach 60+ career singles wins.

NEW CONFERENCE, WHO THIS?
The Sun Devils were picked to finish fourth in the Big 12 Conference in the preseason poll announced on Jan. 7. The maroon and gold also picked up a first-place vote. Prior to joining the Big 12, the Sun Devils boasted a 24-11 record against Big 12 opponents.
