TEMPE – Sun Devil Soccer is back in action on Sunday when it hosts Penn in the second of a three-game homestand to close the non-conference season. The game is the first of seven in September, and it's slated to begin at 1 p.m. AZT.

ASU enters Sunday with a 3-0-2 overall record and has won consecutive games for the first time this season. They are 2-0-2 at home on the campaign, with only one goal conceded in those four contests. The Sun Devils rank 31st in the country by scoring 2.80 goals per game while attempting 18.80 shots per game. The opposition has scored three goals – 0.60 per game – on an average of 8.20 shots.

Enasia Colon is the team leader with 10 points, four goals, and 25 shots. She is also tied for the team lead with three assists. Cameron Valladares also has three assists while scoring three goals. Pauline Nelles has posted three shutouts and holds a 0.60 GAA and a .842 save percentage.

The Sun Devils are coming off a 2-0 win over Grambling State on Thursday. After a scoreless first half, ASU used a pair of goals from Keri Matthews in the final 45 minutes to notch a second straight win.

SERIES NOTES: Sunday's game is the first meeting between the Sun Devils and the Quakers. Penn becomes the third opponent ASU is playing for the first time this season.

ABOUT PENN: The Quakers bring a 0-2-1 record into the game after earning a 1-1 draw at Northern Arizona on Thursday. They have scored two goals and average 8.33 shots per game. Penn's opponents have scored four goals.

Leah Finkelman and Mila Maltby have two goals each this season for the Quakers. Mia Fuss leads the team with eight shots. Annabel Austen has played every minute in goal and made nine saves.

PERFECT AUGUST: With a 3-0-2 record in August, the Sun Devils completed the season's opening month unbeaten for the fifth consecutive season (six years as the 2020 season was played in the spring). During the run, ASU is 14-0-6 and outscored the opposition 60-13 in those games.

HOME COOKING: With two wins and two draws at home this season, ASU has extended its unbeaten streak to 14 (8-0-6) consecutive non-conference home games dating back to the 2021 season. Since 2018, the Sun Devils are 19-3-7 at home in non-conference games.

The Sun Devils have 12 home games on the schedule in 2024, the most since ASU played 15 during the 2000 season when the facility opened. ASU is 121-74-30 at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

TWICE IS NICE: With a 3-0 record this season when scoring at least two goals, ASU is now 203-13-12 (.917) in program history when scoring multiple goals in a game. In addition, the team is 127-1-1 (.988) when scoring three-plus and 71-0 when scoring at least four goals.

BRACE FOR SUCCESS: Four players have recorded a brace during a game this season. Enasia Colon has twice scored two goals in a game, while Megan Sofield, Cameron Valladares, and Keri Matthews each have posted a two-goal outing. It's the first time since the 2007 season that four different players have recorded a multi-goal game during the same season.

COLON CLIMBS: Enasia Colon enters Sunday as the Big 12 leader with 25 shot attempts. She is tied for fourth in the conference with 10 points and tied for fifth with four goals.

Colon is up to 15th in team history with 41 career points and 16th with 15 career goals. She also ranks in the ASU top 20 in shots, shots on goal, shot percentage, and average goals, assists, and points per game.

CLUTCH CAM: Cameron Valladares has adjusted quickly to the Sun Devil system, scoring three goals and four assists. Her nine points this season match her total from her first two collegiate seasons combined.

Valladares scored the first brace of her career and posted two assists last Sunday at LSU. One of those goals was the game-winner, and she also scored the decisive goal against Wagner. She is one of three players in the Big 12 with two GWG this season.

FRESHMAN PHENOM: Kierra Blundell has opened her Sun Devil account with seven points by recording two goals and three assists. Blundell became the first freshman to score in the season opener for ASU since Nicole Douglas scored against Montana in the first game of the 2018 season. She joined Patrice Feulner (2000) as the only two freshmen to score in the season's first two games.

NELLES NOTES: Following her program record of nine shutouts last season, Pauline Nelles has posted three clean sheets this season. She is tied for third in program history with 15 career shutouts and ranks tied for fifth with 22 career wins. Nelles has played 3,060 consecutive minutes in goal for the Sun Devils.

Top Drawer Soccer ranked Nelles No. 21 in their Preseason Top 100 Players list. She was the highest-ranked player from the Big 12 and was also named to the TDS Preseason Best XI Second Team.

LOOKING AHEAD: ASU will close the non-conference slate with a home game against Utah Tech on Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. AZT.
