TEMPE – Sun Devil Women's Tennis kicked off their fall season on Sept. 19, the first of nine tournaments before competing in the annual Thunderbird Invitational set for Nov. 8-10.
Jamea Jackson and the Sun Devils will embark across the country as members of the team attempt to qualify for the NCAA tournament, which marks the first time the NCAA will hold the singles and doubles tournament in the fall set for Nov. 19-24 in Waco, Texas.
This will be a story that will continue to be updated throughout the Fall season.
ITF W35 Bakersfield Women's Open:
The next Fall tournament for the Sun Devils will take place at the ITA Regional Championships set for Oct. 17-Oct. 22nd in San Diego, Calif. The ITA event is also a chance for members of the Sun Devils to qualify for this November's Singles and Double's tournament.

ITF W35 Bakersfield Women's Open:
- Ada Piestrzynska was the lone Sun Devil to participate in the Bakersfield Women's Open, and fell in the qualifying round to Anna Campana, 3-6, 1-6.
- Thursday, September 19: The No. 1 seeded double's pair Patricija Spaka and Sara Svetac earned a bye into the quarterfinal. Double's pair Emilija Tverijonaite and Aiya Nupbay won 6-2 in their round of 16 match over Zoe Olmos/Vesa Gjinaj (SDSU) to move into the quarterfinal.
- Karsyn Evans/Ada Piestrzynska (ASU) also won their first found match, 6-2 over Emma Valletta/Dylan Lolofie (Utah).
- In singles play, Tverijonaite earned a bye after being the No. 1 seed. Nupbay won in three sets over Doga Akyurek (Nevada), 5-7, 7-5, 6-1 to move into the round of 16. Spaka won in straight sets 7-5, 6-1 over Liisa Varul (SDSU) and Evans won 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 over Ninon Martinache [3, SDSU] moving into the next round.
- Svetac and Piestrzynska both fell in straight sets in their opening-round matches.
- Friday, September 20: Spaka/Svetac [1] moved into the semifinal with a 6-3 win over Liisa Varul/Gloria Alogo Piqueras (SDSU), however Nupbay/Tverijonaite and Piestrzynska/Evans both fell in the quarterfinals in the doubles draw.
- Tverijonaite [1] won both of her matches in straight sets to move into Saturday's semifinal, defeating Emma Valletta 6-1, 6-2 and her teammate Aiya Nupbay 6-3, 6-0.
- Nupbay defeated the No. 6 seed Gloria Alogo Piqueras 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 to move into the quarterfinal.
- Evans would also win both of her matches on Friday, winning both in straight sets. She defeated Duru Durgun 7-5, 6-2 and then beat Kristina Nordikyan 6-4, 6-3 to move into Saturday's semifinal.
- Saturday September 21: Spaka/Svetac made quick work of their semifinal match, winning 6-1 over Tullis/Levelston (BYU) to move into the final on Sunday.
- Tverijonaite handled her semifinal match with ease, winning 6-2, 6-0 over Hannah Read (USD). However, Evans fell to Levelston 2-6, 0-6 in the semis.
- In the single's final, Tverijonaite prevailed in three sets over Levelston, winning 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (3) in a third-set tiebreaker to win the singles title.
- Sunday Sept. 22: The No. 1 seed, Spaka/Svetac won the doubles title, winning over Kamper/Akid (Utah) Sunday morning,
