TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Hockey announced its home schedule for the 2018-19 season on Wednesday, which features four 2018 NCAA Tournament teams, the 2018 National Champions and spans all six Division I conferences. Six of the 10 teams visiting ASU either finished within the top-20 or were ranked within the USCHO poll at some point during the season, while an additional two received votes at some point during 2017-18.

The upcoming schedule also includes the return of the Desert Hockey Classic on Dec. 28-29 with 2018 National Champion Minnesota-Duluth, ECAC runner-up Clarkson and WCHA regular-season champion Minnesota State. Times and locations for the upcoming season and Desert Hockey Classic are TBD.

"We're thrilled to host more Division I home games than in any of our previous two seasons and bring elite, top-20 opponents to the Valley," said head coach Greg Powers. "Our Desert Hockey Classic returns this year with a bang, featuring the defending national champions and two top-10 teams from a season ago. Hockey and sports fans alike have an opportunity to experience college hockey at the highest level in the desert this season."

The season kicks off at home as the Sun Devils host Alaska-Fairbanks on Oct. 5-6 and 2018 Frozen Four participant Ohio State Oct. 11-12. The Buckeyes were ranked No. 3 in the final USCHO poll.

After embarking on the first road trip of the season, ASU returns home against Nebraska-Omaha on Oct. 26-27.

Following another trek away from home, the Sun Devils return for a match-up with Big Ten foe Michigan State on Nov. 9-10.

The season will feature two stretches of three-straight away series, with the first coming here in the middle of November. After a bye to start December, the Sun Devils finish the stretch before returning home against Colorado College on Dec. 14-15.

Christmas Break lands here before again hosting the Desert Hockey Classic for the third time in four years. The tournament will feature arguably the best field of all holiday tournaments on Dec. 28-29 with the location TBD. The inaugural tournament was hosted at Gila River Arena in Glendale in 2015, followed by an appearance at the Prescott Valley Events Center up north in 2016.

The 2019 calendar year starts with a home series against perennial powerhouse and historic college hockey program Boston College on Jan. 4-5.

The final long road trip falls here with three road trips in four weekends followed by the final homestand and Senior Weekend on Feb. 15-16 against American International.

Coach Powers and the team will wrap up the season on the road following a weekend off.

The 2018-19 road schedule is scheduled to be released in May.
