TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 10 Arizona State women's golf team prepares for the 2018 NCAA Women's Golf Championships in defense of their nation-leading eighth national title in 2017.
The NCAA Championships will take place at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla. from Friday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 23.

The Sun Devils are joined by Northwestern, Alabama, Stanford, UCLA, Kent State, Arkansas, Texas, Auburn, Florida, Baylor, Oklahoma, and Duke.
THE COURSE
The tournament will take place at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., a 6,328/6,247 yard par-72 course (two holes have varying yardage) near the campus of Oklahoma State University.
The course opened in May 1994, designed by renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio, and was named the "Best New Course" in the country by Golf Digest. The home of Oklahoma State men's and women's golf was named to honor the late Karsten Solheim, founder of Karsten Manufacturing (PING).
CHAMPIONSHIPS FORMAT
The NCAA championships will start with three days of stroke play (Friday-Monday) with 18 holes per day (54 holes total). After Sunday's third round, the top 15 teams and nine individuals not from those teams will be determined. Those teams and individuals will play a final day (18 holes) of stroke play (Monday) to determine the top eight teams that will advance to match play. A 72-hole individual champion will also be crowned.
The top eight teams will advance to a match play format with quarterfinals and semifinals Tuesday and finals Wednesday to determine the NCAA champion.
The first three rounds (Friday-Sunday) will start at 7:30 am CT/5:30 am PT while Monday will begin at 11:30 am CT/9:30 am PT.
Tuesday's match play quarterfinals will start at 7 am CT/5 am PT (#2 vs #7 and #3 vs #6) and 7:50 am CT/5:50 am PT (#1 vs #8 and #4 vs #5). The winner of the 7 am matches will play a semifinal at 1:30 pm CT while the winner of the 7:50 am matches will play a semifinal at 2:20 pm CT. Wednesday's championship is slated for 2:25 pm CT/12:25 pm PT.
PAIRINGS
Arizona State will be paired with Florida and Northwestern for the first two rounds of stroke play, both teams the Sun Devils defeated in the NCAA quarterfinals and championship in 2017. The teams will tee off on hole one between 1:21-2:05 pm CT (11:21-12:05 pm PT) on Friday and on hole 10 between 8:36-9:20 am CT (6:36-7:20 am PT) on Saturday. Sunday's pairings will be dependent on the first two days' scores.

Thursday's practice round is free to the public. An all-session ticket is $30 while single session tickets are $10 apiece. A ticket for both the women's championships and the following week's men's championships is $50.

The Sun Devils, in their 26th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance, finished tied for fourth at the NCAA Madison Regional May 7-9.
Arizona State is one of just 10 teams across the nation () to earn a spot in all 26 seasons NCAA Regionals have been in existence.
For the Sun Devils, it was also their best score as a team since their second tournament of the season in early October 2017.
The Pac-12 advanced seven of the league's 11 programs to nationals, 10 of which competed at NCAA Regionals this season – Arizona State, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington, Colorado, and Arizona.
ASU recorded 11 birdies on the back nine on the first day of Regionals, led by freshman Raquel Olmos who birdied four-straight between holes 12 and 15. Individually, senior Roberta Liti earned her second top-10 finish of the season (T7th).

The Sun Devil women's golf team has done something unmatched by any other NCAA Division I team in their sport – they have won eight NCAA National Championships, including three straight, five in six years, and six within nine years (1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2009, 2017).
ASU also has a nation-leading six individual NCAA champions including Danielle Ammaccapane (1985), Emilee Klein (1994), Kristel Mourgue d'Algue (1995), Grace Park (1999), Azahara Munoz (2008), and Monica Vaughn (2017). Prior to women's sports competing in the NCAA, the Sun Devils had four other national champions including Cathy Gaughan (1970), Jane Bastanchury-Booth (1969), Carol Sorenson (1962), and Joanna Gunderson-Carner (1960).

Current head coach Missy Farr-Kaye and assistant coach Michelle Estill, both Sun Devil alums, played under legendary head coach Linda Vollstedt. Vollstedt led the Sun Devils to six NCAA championship in the 1990's and Farr-Kaye was part of the 1990 championship team her senior year.
Last year, Farr-Kaye completed the trifecta, winning a national championship as a player (1990), an assistant coach (2009), and a head coach (2017), all at Arizona State.
