COLUMBUS – After an eventful weekend at the 2018 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving National Championship, the Arizona State swimming and diving squad racked up two more All-Americans to total four on the weekend.
 
The Devils sent three swimmers to the block in the 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle and 200 Breaststroke at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Chloe Isleta competed for ASU in the back – her third event on the weekend – Claire Fisch in the free and Silja Kansakoski in the breast.
 
Isleta participated in the second heat of her event, ultimately placing 43rd with a time of 1:55.98, good for the 4th fastest time in program history. Fisch completed the 100 free with a time of 49.88, earning 48th place.
 
After a First-Team All-American performance in the 100 back last night, Kansakoski stepped up to the block looking to replicate her sixth-place performance.

Kansakoski punched a ticket to the B finals with a 10th place finish in the preliminary round, racing a time of 2:08.11 that is also the 7th-best time in ASU history. The sophomore earned four points for ASU in the finals with a 13th place finish in the event to total 31 for the Devils. The finish also gave her a second All-American award on the weekend, this time an honorable mention.

On the diving side, Mara Aiacoboae took the platform for the Devils in her first event of the weekend. After a first round where she scored 27 points, Aiacoboae bounced back to finish with a score of 261.50, good for 9th place and a ticket to the consolation finals. The senior finished up her Sun Devil career on a high note, placing 6th in the consolations to earn a honorable mention All-American, her second-straight in platform.

ASU finishes their national championship weekend in 23rd place, scoring 34 points through Kansakoski, Kaellgren and Aiacoboae, a six-place improvement from finishing 29th last season.
