GOLD CANYON, Ariz. – In their first competition of the spring 2018 season, the reigning national champion and No. 6-ranked Sun Devil women's golf team earned a victory over the University of Denver in a one-round dual.

"Winning our dual is a solid start to our spring," said head coach Missy Farr-Kaye. "Olivia played very well today on a difficult course with very fast greens. Raquel is battling through a back injury and we hope to have her feeling better before travel next week. Today showed us what we need to work on before we head to the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge."

Sophomore Olivia Mehaffey posted the lowest score of the competition for the Sun Devils, shooting a 68, tying her second-lowest score of the season and lowest since setting a new career low (65) in round one of the Windy City Collegiate in early October.

Sophia Zeeb (75), Madison Kerley (77), Roberta Liti (78), and Raquel Olmos Ros (80) rounded out the Sun Devils' squad that shot 298 as a team.

The Sun Devils have exactly two weeks until they start competition at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. (Feb. 11-13), a competition in which they won their regional crown last season.
