TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State cross country program and head coach Louie Quintana announced the upcoming schedule for the 2016 season.

If all goes as planned, the Sun Devils won't travel to more than three cities over the entire regular and championship season. The six-week regular season features four in-state meets with two trips to Tucson, one to Flagstaff and the annual Arizona State Invitational hosted by the Sun Devils at Papago Golf Course.

The Pac-12 Championships will be hosted in Tucson, while the NCAA West Regional and NCAA Championships will be held at the locations of the other two road trips.

ASU opens the year as it has since 2005 at the George Kyte Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz. on Sept. 3. Two weeks later, the Devils will participate at the University of Arizona Dave Murray Invitational as they have since 2003. The first road trip will start off the month of October, as the team travels to Sacramento, Calif. for the NCAA West Preview.

After another trip back to Tucson for the Arizona Twilight on Oct. 7, the team will then make the furthest trip of their season to Terra Haute, Ind. for the NCAA Pre-National Invitational at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course hosted by Indiana State.

The Arizona State Invite ends the regular season and the Devils will head right back to Tucson for the third trip of the season for the Pac-12 Championships.

The NCAA West Regional will be held in Sacramento while the NCAA Championships will take place in Terra Haute.
