TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona State Volleyball team (7-9, 0-4 Pac-12) fell in three sets to the Oregon State Beavers (8-7, 1-3 Pac-12), 22-25, 11-25, 18-25, on Sunday morning in Wells Fargo Arena.
Sophomore Lexi MacLean led the Sun Devils with 10 kills while freshman Mmachi Nwoke and sophomore Jasmine Koonts each added five. Junior Oluoma Okaro had five total blocks on the match, including two solo blocks.
Junior Halle Harker's eight digs on the match officially moves her into 15th in the ASU record book for career digs with 1,176. She is now 45 away from breaking into the Sun Devil's top-10 list.
"The most important thing is we have to be able to score," said head coach Stevie Mussie. "We need to have an increased sense of urgency when we have the ball on our side. We pass well but we have to be able to score right away and end rallies. That is a huge focus for us."
Oregon State's Mary-Kate Marshall led all scorers with 12 kills while Lila Toner added 10 of her own.
Up next, the Sun Devils travel to Los Angeles to continue Pac-12 play. They face No. 23 USC on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7:00 p.m. PT and No. 12 UCLA on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m. PT. Both matches will be aired on the Pac-12 Network.
